The Machame Route commences from the southern circuit of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering a captivating journey that traverses the ice fields en route to the summit. Known as the "Whiskey route" among locals and climbers, it presents a relatively demanding and pricier alternative to the Marangu route. Opting for the Machame Route allows for strategic acclimatization by spending nights at lower elevations, increasing the chances of a successful summit on Africa's highest peak.
Renowned for its awe-inspiring vistas and breathtaking landscapes, the Machame Route captivates climbers with its natural splendor while ascending Mount Kilimanjaro. Though the route may experience moderate crowding, the magnificent scenery that unfolds along the entire path compensates for any inconveniences. Notably, it traverses notable landmarks like the Shira plateau, the Lava Tower, and the Barranco wall, further enhancing the overall experience.
Upon your arrival in Moshi, Tanzania, you will be greeted by Our representatives. They will provide you with a briefing about the climb and conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary gear. Barafu Camp, situated at around 4,640 meters (15,220 feet), is the final campsite before the summit attempt. Here, you will have a chance to rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the upcoming summit night.
